Volume Pedal Question

I was reading the owners manual on the Nashville 112 and I was a little confused about the input jacks. Where is the proper place to plug your volume pedal in, the High Gain jack or the Pre EQ Patch jack. If itâ€™s the EQ Patch would it be the send or receive jack ?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but Iâ€™ve been using the High Gain jack and now Iâ€™m wondering if Iâ€™m not using the right jack.
Any help is appreciated being that this is my first Peavey amp and Iâ€™m not that familiar with them.

Steel --> Volume Pedal --> Hi Gain input on NV112, is the most used setup. Some like to have a buffer-amp between steel and passive VP - not necessary for active VPs.
