Posted this is Pedal Steel rather than Electronics. It's a mechanical issue.
I received my pedal bar bracket from Keith Hilton today. Never used a bracket before, but got tired of guessing the location of my volume pedal.
I mounted the bracket to my Hilton standard profile volume pedal with the larger center screw, and the screws that held the two front rubber feet. Holes line up perfectly (of course). The bracket goes over the pedal bar of my Carter SD10, but doesn't go all the way down. There is a significant gap above the pedal bar. It seems as it I need to "raise the bar," literally.
Did I fasten the bracket incorrectly? Or is my pedal bar resting too close to the floor? Maybe the rubber leg tips are worn.
Suggestions? |

Dan, where does it say that the bracket has to go all the way down?
The Hilton pedal feet need to be supported by the floor. Hanging on a pedal bar is not needed. The bracket just holds the pedal in place. |

Peter, I don't have anything that says that. It's what I was expecting, an assumption based on my ignorance. I will reinstall the two front rubber feet under my pedal. |

On one of my steels it fits snug and I can pick the whole thing up and move it. But this is a luxury. On my other one it does nothing but place the pedal correctly, but that's ok. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Thanks guys. "It only hurts when I look at it."
I did some recording last night. The bracket did its job. I was strapped into my steel, and didn't see a thing |
