I'm assuming there is a gizmo available to grasp the pedal / knee lever tuning knobs on my Carter so I don't have to pinch them with my arthritic fingers.
What does one call that gizmo, and where does one buy it? _________________ Well up into mediocrity

Tuning wrenches are handy, but until you get one, you can use a 3/16" nut driver or perhaps the 3/16" socket that come with a 1/4" socket set. If you don't already have any of those, any hardware or even Walmart sells them. |

Drambuie cork drilled for socket (I've got a "pile of shame" of corks)

Wonderful!
I went out to the workshop and got a socket & driver handle. Probably pretty well fixed for corks too... _________________ Well up into mediocrity

Here are a few examples of what you can get. The far left is the "standard", center is custom made with an allen wrench to tune splits (you wouldn't need that for your Carter), and a stubby screwdriver handle drilled to take the 3/16" deep socket. The last one lets you really get a grip on the tuner.

It is a separate web server - it doesn't use the Forum's login and password. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

If you want a regular factory tuning wrench, Let your mouse do the walking. At the top of the steel guitar forum page. Click accessories at the top of the page. When accessories come up. Go to page 2, Lower left corner. There the Gizmo is for 6 bucks and change. Good Luck and Happy Steelin. |
