Is there a reason you are looking for just these brands?
I ask because I started on a gfi student model 3x4 and it was a fine guitar. Also, Fred justice makes a fine s10 3x4.
Then there's the Mullen Discovery which (as is the Justice) a pro quality guitar.
Is it the price range your trying to stay in? I sold my GFI sm10 3x4 for the same price as a new stage one.

Lonnie you can get a brand new gfi 3x4 for 1450. They play nice. That's what I started on. You can find a great used one here for poll around 1100
