HELP,
I WAS PLAING LAST NITE IN A CLUB AND HAD TROBLE WITH MY 8TH STRING LOWER E TO Eb
it would come back sharp then i have to retune every song. put a new string on ,still the same problem?? it's on my e9th neck it my older msa d-10 vintage xl. any help on this would be welcome.

One thing to check on the older MSA's with the round cross shafts is that the bellcrank is not slipping on the shaft. Check the set screw.

There are a bunch of other things it could be, but try that first. If you're convinced it is tight, next thing is to make sure you have enough throw on the lever.

Try that and c'mon back with the results.

not sure if this is applicable to your MSA but on my Sho-Bud..Pro III , I had a very similar issue and it was a worn finger rivet.

I took the changer assy apart and swapped fingers with a string finger that had no rods...

good as new..

Most likely, the roller at the keyhead is not turning freely. Oil the roller, and make sure the string is pulling in a straight line (not pulling sideways) at the nut.
