I'm posting this for a friend who husband recently passed way, local guitar and steel picker Wayne Smith from the Spokane, Wa. area.
His wife would like to sell an MSA single 12 8 pedals and 5 knees. This was a double neck but Wayne decided to make it into a single. Good job was performed and a nice regular pad was attached in the C6 position.
Wayne's wife cannot find the keyhead or changer, but the neck and c6 rods go with the steel. If we can find the keyhead and changer before sale or later, we can send to buyer later.
As far as the steel. Its in great shape, good for its age. I plugged it into an amp when I viewed it and works great, no buzz. Pedals, rods and bag all in good shape. Case is a little beat up on the tolex covering but overall case is in good strong shape. Wife would like to get $1,200, and buyer pays fedex ship and insurance. Fedex will box up the steel/case.
You can contact me here and I will be the middle man. I can send more pixs if needed.
After I receive the money from buyer, either paypal or usps money order, I generally give the buyer 24 hours after the steel is received to look it over, play it and let me know if its a keeper, otherwise if buyer pays fedex ship and ins back to me, I will refund the money to buyer. Is that fair enough?

For those who sent pm's asking about ship weight. I will weigh the steel, legs, rods, and case, and post the weight on the forum here for ease...thanks for the interest.

Heres the setup on the 12 string MSA.
From treble to bass: F#, Eb, G#, E, B, G#, F#, E, B, G#, E, B.
The first three pedals are standard Emmons setup.
The knees moving from left to right:
LKL: Raises strings 1 and 2 G# and E
LKR: C6 not hooked up
RKL: 4 and 8 strings E to F
RKR: 4 and 8 strings E to Eb
The vertical knee looks to be home made and a fairly decent job it lowers the 5th string B to Bb
Notice the e and f levers are on the right knee and not the left knee as todays standard. Probably gonna leave that as is and let the buyer switch if needed.
Steel, legs, rods, pedal bar in case weighs 80 pounds.
Dimensions are: 7 inches x 18 inches x 41 inches.
She's a good ole MSA from the 70's...
Over all in good shape, and clean for its age. While visiting, I found a small bag of parts from the old c6 undercarriage. We are still looking for the keyhead, changer and bell cranks from the c6. Pretty sure all the stuff is still in Wayne's collection. If found, we will include. I played it and overall, doesnt play bad, needs fine tuning adjustments. Would do well for a person wanting to learn or own a single 12. Pad on back neck in good shape no rips or tears. Duane |
