Hello.
In March, me and Dag Wolf are once again heading towards The Dallas show. We are starting in Nashville the weekend before that, and after a couple of days there, we will rent a car and drive via Memphis and Graceland to Dallas. We are 4 people + luggage, so I hesitate to bring a steel all the way from Norway for playing 25-30 minutes! Maybe paying for extra wight and all. So the question is, are any of you who see this going to Dallas, and maybe have a steel that I can borrow, and with a set up I can use? Today I play a Zumsteel, tall size ( legs and rods) Emmons style footpedals, and the following knee levers.
LKL -4 & 8 raise.
LKR -1 & 2 +7 Raise half and whole tone.
RKL -4 & 8 lowering.
RKR -2 string lowering half and whole tone. + 9 low.
LKVert. Lowering 5.
That is the pedals I will use in our set.
Last year I had an Infinity that someone was kind enough to let me use. If anybody can help, it will save me for alot of traveling trouble!
You may post an answer here, or answer to email:

Hope to hear from you.
See you in Dallas!
Kind regards, Egil. |

Egil I am bringing my Zum Hybrid "Big Red" D10, and my E9th knees match yours -- although I also have an extra staggered LKL .. mine is regular height - your more than welcome to borrow it if you like -- payment in beer of course hehe
ALso Dave Beaty's black Infinity D10 is setup the same as well on E9th - but I think thats a regular height as well _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Hi Paddy!
WOW, seems like you have the same guitar as I have, exept mine is an SD 10. I`ll buy you at least 2 beer! Haha. But not too many so you fell under the table. Looking forward to see and hear you Paddy, it will be great I`m sure. I tried to contact Dave, but have not heard from him. Will keep in touch! It is snowing here today, hate to go on the road then, but have to do it.
Regards, Egil. |

No problem Egil - it may be a little cramped at regular height but you can try it and see how it feels !
No snow here mate, 31 degrees C and pretty warm :-} _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

My 2003 D10 Zum is 1 inch taller and is close except for LKR. It is not a Hybrid but is very nice. I would try to change the LKR for him but I don't exactly understand 1 & 2+7 half and whole. Do 1 & 2 each raise a half and 7 raise whole? |

Hi Wally
Thanks for responding to my post. Are you going to Dallas as well? It seems that I will use the steel that belongs to Paddy Long, he also got the same set up as I have.
And Danny, thanks for your offer too. But I already was offered a guitar that will be fine for me. On my guitar the 1 and 2 string both raises a whole tone. Use that quite a lot, makes many nice combinations. 7 string half tone.
Again, thanks for your replies. Hope to see some faces I know in Dallas.
Regards, Egil. |

Ok Egil. My LKR raises 1 a full tone and 6 has the splits. I have intended on adding the 2 nd string raise to that guitar. I have it on my S10. I will probably do that right away. So, then it would be only to move the change from 6 to 7 to have your setup . That wouldn't take much to move. So if you change your mind and want a 1 inch taller Zum, let me know. I'll never make the big stage at Dallas, but sure wouldn't mind having one of my guitars make it. By the way, it's a looker. Red, White and Blue lightning bolt front. |
