Has anyone tried Bobs c scale tuning , Bob has a complete copedent posted for it and I find it interesting I'm building a guitar just for that purpose , its based on a tuning that jerry byrd used and looks like it might have some promise although not condusive to country music as Bob explains , it does have merit in other types of music , anyone know anything or have tried using it ?

After experimenting with it for a while, I switched to an F scale tuning. I found that it worked better with the high root tone of the scale on top. I had that tuning on my Sierra Olympic for about a decade. You can hear it at https://b0blee.bandcamp.com/album/diatonic-adventures.

Here's the page that describes it: https://b0b.com/tunings/fscale12.htm

It was fun to play, but ultimately I went back in a more chord-based direction. I hate to call it a "failed experiment" because it was fun to play. I just found it limiting chord-wise, and it was too easy to hit the wrong string by accident.
