I had been searching for "the" Emmons Original of my dreams. I found it almost at my back door. After looking & shopping, I learned that my friend Dana Flood was refinishing/refurbishing a '70 fatback. This guitar originally had a red lacquer finish, however, the original finish was in very poor condition. After he removed the damaged finish he discovered a beautiful birdseye maple grain underneath When I went over to see it the first time, I took some progress photos, and heard it played for the first time. When my spousal unit saw the photos, she then decided that this was the guitar that I was gonna buy. So, in order to maintain domestic tranquility, I conceded to her...Therefore, she now tells everyone that it is her guitar, I just get to play it,(even at my regular gig!)
Dana Flood and master machinist Albert Johnson did the work, 3 knees added and longer rod couplers so that I could get under it. Ha! Dana is a stand up business man, and he delivered the guitar set up even better than I had hoped for. The tone of this guitar is incredible. Original Emmons single coil pickups, bolt-on changer & wood necks. Dana called the finish "Blondeburst".

Hi Ron,
great guitar. I like that finish, too.
Have a '76 which look not bad either.
Try to attach a picture.

Cheers,
Manfred
