Just Recieved a Fender 2000 I bought
on Ebay. Got it cleaned up, Put on new strings and its sounds great.
Still got to do a little tweeking on the
pedals but boy it made me home sick.
I played an old 1000 for years.
The day after I bought mine they ran another
one on there and the bid jumped to $1300
Glad I got mine before that guy showed up

Hey Russell, congratulations! Any chance I can see some pictures? I have what I believe to be a 2000 but it is trashed. I bought it for parts to use on my 400. It has the old style pedal that the old 400s and 1000s had but the Fender logo does not appear anywhere on the guitar. I think it's a "Franken-Fender" guitar. The frame and most of the parts are Fender but I'm not sure about the changer. Maybe it was a prototype or something.

My first Pedal Steel was a Fender 2000 that I bought new in Oct 69.
It was heavy and came in two cases, but the thing didn't have any 'cabinet' drop. I had it about a year and a half and traded it in on a new 71 Emmons (Black) D-10.
One of the pluses was I never broke a 3rd string. At the time I was using Sho-Bud strings with a .010 for the 3rd string.
Sho-Bud also built a knee lever kit for it, used that to lower the 2nd and 8th string. |

Dave,
I sent you some pictures in an email
If you need anymore holler
Jack, This thing is plenty heavy, But iI love it. someone added 2 kneelevers.
Looks like from a zb but they done a professional looking job.
It had some setup problems but that was
easy to fix.
Looks like quite an improvment from the 1000
I think it will do all I can handle
