Just wondering if anyone using a 5 / string fiddle can tell me where you buy your strings? I cannot find any....thanks jack |

You can buy a regular set of violin stings and a 14" viola C string from the same brand. Super sensitive or D'Addaio Prelude would work. |

Jack, I think you'll like them much better than Super Sensitive. I used the SS strings when I first started playing but haven't tried them since. I remember switching to Thomastik Dominants from those and stayed with them for about 25 years. Dominants are perlon, not steel, and have a softer feel. About 5 years ago I switched to Helicore. They are easy to play on, loud and clear - great for fiddle styles. I play a lot and they last me about 6 months. _________________ Tom Dillon

Tom, I have been using super sensitive a long time (most time I get the old fiddler). Back when I used to play regular I would change them about once every 2/years....thanks jack |
