You can make them or re-coat them yourself.
I sanded them lightly, primed the parts to be coated, and dip them twice in the colored dip you can buy anywhere.
Mine last for years.

| Just bought some vinyl dip yesterday for $4.95. It was simple to apply. Dipped the picks and repeated 10 min later. After hanging them to dry for 4 hours they were good to go. |

I emailed him the other day, he says he doesn’t do it anymore.
But I just Googled “rubber coated finger picks†and ordered some here: https://www.banjoteacher.com/banjo-supplies/banjo-picks/comfort-coated-picks/
Haven’t received them yet, we’ll see how they do. |

The last plasti-dip I bought was about $10 from Harbor Freight. Unless you have other uses for it like tool handles etc., it will go bad after a while in storage. I wouldn't buy a whole can of it just to do a couple sets of picks.
A more economical method is to shrink wrap them. I think 1/2" is the right size, but you can buy an assortment from HF for peanuts. 5 mins. and a match and you're done. It will wear just as good as the dip and you have no waste. Local auto parts stores, Radio Shack, electronics shops and discount houses have it too.

| I dunno. Gotta have at least 200°-212° or more for most shrink tubing. Heat gun probably better. Maybe boiling water if you can get it to stay put. I always use a match or a lighter. Hold the pick with a needle nose plier. |

| Plastidip coating lasted all of 2 weeks before peeling + loss of its tackiness . Just tried the shrink wrap, which is proving to be much more durable. |

IMHO, regardless of what you do, don’t coat the inside of picks that rub together. You may or may not have more of a problem of them rubbing together thus possibly slowing your single stringing just my experience.

I don't know what materials you had, but that's not typical. Certainly not of what I have now or have used in the past. |
