I play piano, guitar, and bass, sing, and write songs. Back in the early 1970s I found an MSA brochure in a music store in San Jose, and I've been lusting after one ever since. But I had a life to live and a family to raise, and there were strong reasons why I wasn't going to do it with music.

Now, I'm retired, and spend much of my time working on all the things I never had a chance to do -- Nashville Tele and Texas honky-tonk piano, most recently. And I saw an MSA D10 Classic for sale in Craigslist last Saturday, and it followed me home. Kyle Bennett informs me that it was made on March 1, 1976, and it seems to be in really good condition. It holds tune just fine, and all the pedals and knee levers go to the note you tune 'em to and come back.

Right now, I'm just another geek a-gawkin', but I'm playing major scales in all positions, major chord inversions in all positions, and a bar exercise from Paul Franklin I found here. I'll see where I can get in a year or so! Very Happy

Looks great! Welcome to the forum (I am a veteran member of not quite a month). I've also been playing music for many years and the pedal steel has reminded me what it felt like when I first started out and everything was new. Sometimes I'll learn a new little thing and it sounds so good and is so satisfying that I actually laugh out loud! Have fun!

Congratulations. Those MSAs from the 70s are still great guitars, and this one will last you for the rest of your life.

I bought one exactly like that back in early 1977. Herb Remington sold it for me in Houston in the early 1980s. I wonder if it could be the same guitar.

In the case it weighed about 185 pounds! Laughing

Good looking MSA, Al! My first steel was a '74 MSA and I don't regret it one bit.
