I just tried that website and it's nonexistent.
I'm looking for resources for myself and others that may need replacement legs for Fender pedal steels. I'm not aware of any sources at all, so if you could re-check that web address I 'd appreciate it. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Thanks Bill.
Ill give the Deluxe34 guy a call for a stand for another lap steel i have here.
I finally did get the suncoast guy (Ray) and am awaiting the 4 Fender legs i needed.
Suncoast makes legs for MANY guitar companies and can easily make almost any congiguration. He actually had a set of 3/4 - 10 legs setting there.!!

Bill - the pedal steels seem to have an assortment of fitting types.
The one I have a problem with is apparently 3/4" (I think 10 but I'm not positive) - but different from the ones he shows on eBay. Mine have non-threadad section about 1/2" long that causes the threads to be inset quite a bit.
The weld (or whatever held the fitting in place) failed before I got it. I've somewhat precariously held it in place with JB Weld since it failed again on me. It's come apart again and 'm tired of messing with it (even though I don't gig any longer it's still a hassle).
I'll have to email both of them a picture and see if either one has anything like it.

FWIW, I bought 4 of these Deluxe34 legs for my 54 Stringmaster that came with no legs through ebay, and they are excellent.
Bill provided the link. Looks like they are running low, but these have been listed for a long time. Maybe he will get some more. |

Brad - I hope it wasn't from one of the eBay sellers that is stripping parts from vintage guitars - parting them out and selling the pieces individually. Some such "parting out" cases have been playable guitars bought from SGF or Facebook Fender Steel group members. These guitars are essentially destroyed - permanently taken out of circulation.
FWIW on the Facebook Fender Steel Page (and several vintage guitar sites) there's a push to actively avoid such sellers. There are other sources for parts (many Fender steel parts are swapped, sold cheaply or given away by players). Many of us find the practice of parting out vintage instruments that way abhorrent.
I thought I should post this since most of the legs I've seen on eBay have been from parted-out guitars and many players are simply not aware of what's happening. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Jim, the Deluxe34 legs I bought on eBay are brand new manufactured replacement legs for Fender 3/4 10 sockets. I think the seller also builds/sells mic stands and such, so these legs were similar for them to make.
I understand and share everyone's concerns about vintage steels in good condition being senselessly destroyed. But having needed parts myself, its also true that there are plenty of guitars out there NOT in good condition and ripe for contributing much needed parts. Fender not having made any in decades, the only place to get most parts are from the remains of other donor guitars. Parts guitars are also how some people achieve their dream of owning a Dual Pro or Stringmaster. |

Matthew, please post your request in Wanted to Buy rather than here. Adding to a seven year old discussion will probably not work out well for you.
I wish you good luck, but please don't spam other areas of the forum with the same request. Put it in Wanted to Buy and hope for the best. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel
