I recently acquired an Evans SE200 with a Neo 15" speaker. I am having a time trying to dial it in. Is it me, or is these amps very 'bright' on the edge of tinny. It seems the treble knob does very little, and if you push the bass you kill the middle to low strings. I am playing a Sho-Bud Super pro. Anyone have any setting you would like to share? _________________ MSA CLassic SD-10

Treble not higher than 1 or 2
Mids around 4 to 6 (the mids are the key to this amp)
Bass no higher than 8
If you have a scruff try around 4
This should get you in a useable range |

the depth and expand controls as well as the body control are very interactive. If you have the expand switch on, keep the treble way down. If you have the depth in, keep the bass down. The body control is where mids are. Drastic tonal changes can happen with these switches and controls.

The depth and expand is on pots. It a switch. Should I keep them off? _________________ MSA CLassic SD-10

Keep the expand off and the depth on. These amps have a tremendous array of tones. You'll find what you like if you just keep trying different settings. |

Call Evans and talk to Scot. He will talk you through it all and make it alright. That's what I did. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Danelectro, Evans, Fender, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

One trick Scott taught me is to not have the master volume on 10. Dial it back some and turn the pre amp volume up in order to get the full range of your bass treble and body. |
