| Isn't there a big difference in the Wattage capacities? The NV112 is 80 watts and the TT is about 250. |

| It's true that the TT12 speaker is capable of handling a lot more power then the Nash 112 has, but it is just a great sounding speaker. It is also 8 oms, but it is at least as loud as the stock 4 ohm speaker. |

Sensitivities: Stock 12" Blue Marvel speaker (4Ω) = 96.5 db
Eminence TT12 (8Ω)= 100.2 db
So the TT12 is 3.7 db louder than the Blue Marvel; but the NV112 is spec'd at 4Ω, 80 watts. Probably less power at 8Ω; making it most likely a wash between the two in loudness levels.

what are you trying to improve ?
I pulled the stock speaker and now have an 8 ohm Fender Gold Label Eminence installed. No issues with the 4 to 8 ohm swap.
The MID curve changed dramatically( for the better) and the hi end is much sharper. A good Steel playing friend came over , plugged in and commented that the Bass response was also very stout.

| Tried the EPS-12C in my 'Nashville 112' and although the results were rewarding, simply could not justify having a $209.00, 250 watt speaker installed in a $350.00, 80 watt amp. Finally replaced the Eminence with a Sica 4 ohm neo bass speaker that I purchased used from a Forum member, great combination. 'Antique Electronic Supply' was at one time offering these units for $99.00 with free shipping...FYI: For some unknown reason, the mounting holes in the 12" version do not line up perfectly with the studs (the 15" model installs easily) so a slight bit of fiddling is involved in the installation. |

I tried several speakers, including the EPS-12C Eminence and didn't like any of them any better than the stock speaker.
However, upgrading the Op-Amps on the preamp board to OPA2134PA's made a major difference. Lot cheaper (about $30 for the kit from Ken Fox) than a speaker replacement.
I'm not much for the "mod kits" but this one does make a positive difference. |

| Thanks everyone for the responses. Good info. My thought was that the sound engineers at Peavey probably had this amp well planned at stock, but you guys have a world of stage experience, so I was curious. I notice that my stock speaker was made by Eminence. Jack, I will look into the OP Amp board suggestion. |

I changed out my Speaker in my NV112 and went with a Black widow. I had to pull the amp out of the case to get the speaker in but everything went back together ok.
Back then , the speaker cost about $160. I could tell a little improvement in the sound but not $160 worth of improvement. I could however tell a big difference in the weight of the amp. It increased about 10 lbs. |

I would humbly suggest my speaker. It's a great drop-in for the 112. Don't let the ohm difference spook you. Even with the ohm difference, it will be louder than the stock speaker.

Jim, you can get one from any Eminence dealer. I believe there are a few guys on here who are dealers, if you’d like to give them business. But, they are widely available from Guitar Center, Sweetwater, etc.

Ive been using this amp since it came out I find the stock speaker sounds good there may be some difference putting other speakers in the amp but the ones ive heard didn't impress me all that much which had speaker replaced by some other brand I guess you can go with the flavor of the week till you go broke and that's fine ill stick with the blue marvel.....

The stock speakers are very good speakers , you can go broke trying all kinds of different ones. Take time to set down and really make several tone adjustments with the controls first before switching hardware out ,could save a lot of $$$ and time.... JMHO

I agree with Jeff and Mike. I've used a stock 112 for years and find no reason to want to change the speaker. Same for Nashville 400. Also, I don't want or need any chip mods. The greatest improvement in sound that I've ever experienced in my playing, or anyone elses, is to take time to practice and develop good playing technique. The tone controls are on the amps to allow adjustment to personal taste, room acoustics, etc...

Another vote for the stock speaker. Expensive lesson learned, fell for the hype. Peavey knows what they're doing when they voice their amp/speaker combinations for steel guitar. Ended up taking both stock speakers out of a Twin Reverb reissue and putting the single expensive speaker in. I liked that, plus I trimmed 10 lbs. off the Twin weight.
