I just acquired a Profex 2 unit with the battery-less mod and Newman settings. It has an issue where any Preset that uses a 4B equalizer effect causes a loud 'Pop' when the program is selected with either the data knob or the Inc/Dec switches. (A14: 'Buddy', A86: Hals 2, A106: Twin Rev, A107: Twin Shift). If I reprogram it to use a '5B' it doesn't do it. I sent the unit to Peavey for service and it was returned, but it still does the same thing.

Do any of you have this issue? I don't know if it's caused by the hardware or software. Is this a normal characteristic of the unit?

Thanks for any help/advice you can give me.
Bill

Mine does the same thing. I find that the three band EQ is all I ever need.

Thanks a lot for the feedback Robert and Rick. Looks like I can rule out a hardware problem.
But my curiosity is aroused...I don't know much about parametric equalizers or what is unique about this effect.
I've got dig into it some more to try and find out what could be causing this to happen. If anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate hearing them.

when the profex II came out, Jeff Newman had a "help" video, & he warned about those few programs that they would "pop"...just avoid those

Thanks for the reply Rene and Kevin.

I have tried to get Jeff Newman's help video from Jeffran Music but have received no reply to my email. If anyone has one they would be willing to share/sell, please let me know.
