I am here to inform everyone of a special project that Mr. Butch Gardner, owner of BJS Steel Guitar Bars, completed for me. Back in April of this year, I contacted Butch about making me some specialty bars in certain weights, diameters, and lengths. Butch bought the company from the late Bill Stroud a few years ago. Bill was a very nice person to deal with, but he never would take on my requests. However, Butch was up for the challenge. I requested the manufacture of the First BJS SITAR STEEL GUITAR BARS. I requested 2 SITAR Bars, one in the 15/16" diameter and the other in the 1" diameter. Each one was to be 3 9/16" long(12 string length). The other specification was that both SITAR bars had to weigh as close to each other as possible. I was having some dilemma in deciding on the length of the bars; either 3 3/8" 10 string or 3 9/16" 12 string version and also the weights. Butch sent to me a 10 string John Hughey & 12 string John Hughey bar to compare to my 10 string BJS bar that I already owned. Today, I received my 2 BJS SITAR BARS and they weigh exactly 9.4 oz each. THANKS BUTCH! I could not be more pleased with my bars and the friendship that you have given me! If you need a Fine Product and a Fine Person to deal with; then, call Butch Gardner @ BJS @ 731-414-4038. His address is: BJS STEEL GUITAR BARS, 163 Longmire Rd., Three Way, TN. 38343-8536. |

I recall Mooney taking a ride with Waylon using his sitar bar. Very tasty. |

I have tried mine. I do enjoy it on some songs, then use the round side, the rest of the time. _________________ Zum U-12, Carter SDU-12, Zum Encore, Emmons S-10, Emmons D-10, Nashville 400, Two Peavey Nashville 112, Boss Katana 100, Ibanez DD700, Almost every Lesson Jeff Newman sold. Been using the BJS 1.0 bar for quite a while. Got a John Hughey 15/16 bar last week and really like it.
Butch makes a good bar. |
