Regrettably, I sold my last steel to free up some cash for a home closing and have been on hiatus for the past 6 months. Imagine my surprise when I decided to look for a steel and that very day ran across a single owner 2014 Zumsteel SD10 that had never been out of the house. I won't tell you what I paid for it, but let's just call it the deal of the year
Thankfully, everything arrived safe and sound even though the FedEx guys were too lazy to put any packing material between the case and the box to keep the case from moving around.
The serial number indicates it is guitar #1151 with the standard changer, which is evidently one of the last guitars made according to the Zum Hybrid thread. I can't tell if it has the anti-cabinet drop mechanism on it, but maybe one of you can tell from the pics?
In preparation for the arrival of the guitar, I also found an absolutely cherry 1989 Peavey 400 for peanuts here locally and scored a super deal on a Hilton volume pedal to boot.
After getting everything set up, I was immediately struck with the incredible tone of the guitar. It just sounds beautiful, even for a relative beginner like me, and is extremely smooth to play. The Nashville 400 with the 1x15 easily outshines my old Nashville 112. I'm super rusty and the copedent has a few levers switched around from what I'm accustomed to, but it is great to be playing and practicing again.
Enjoy the pics!

Yup. Has ACS,(anti cab drop mech) a great feature. Don't fiddle with it. Its optimally set by Bruce, and is a set it and forget it kinda deal. _________________ Steel Guitar Services:

Thanks Gary, out of curiosity, when did you receive your guitar?
Is Bruce still available via phone or email? I think his site was decommissioned.

Mine was delivered to the original owner in 2013 at the Dallas show, and I bought it two years ago.
I think Bruce has a contact number but I don't have it. |
