I am using a Carvin TS100 power amp in bridged mode, and the specs state that in mono, minimum impedance is 8 ohms. So does that mean I can only use 8 ohm speakers or can I use 4 ohm as well?
Thank you,
Marty |

Marty,
I sent you a PM with the other info...but the load needs to be 8 ohm minimum when running bridged/mono. To run a 4 ohm speaker will cause thermal overload and cause the amp to shut down. Probably wouldn't cause any damage as it has thermal protection but not a good idea to try it.

Thank you David, that is what I thought. I have a BUNCH of 4 ohm speakers to experiment with and just a couple of 8's. I appreciate your reply.

Marty,
The TS-100 can split the input signal or you can use stereo out of the Walker to hook two speakers out of the amp. You can then run a 4 ohm on each channel and just keep the volume down on one speaker at a time if your goal is to try each for tone.

From the owners manual:
50W per channel or 100W bridged
4Ω, 8Ω, or 16Ω each channel (8Ω min. bridged) 1V for full output (full volume per channel) |
