| This guitar has all 14 hole bellcranks and looks exactly like a Legrande 11. The badge on it just reads Lashley Legrande. Does anyone know? |

| LM I'd guess about 1991. Mine is 1153, late 93. They started goingvto 14 bellcranks in late 80s, but the name LLII didnt get used til mid 90s when they released the counterforce mechanism. JS |

When did Emmons start producing the 'original' LeGrande?
Mine is 596L
'curious how many 'originals' Emmons may have pumped out during the first few years of 'original' LeGrande production.

Ron, that's the highest serial original Legrande I've heard of. Until now. 383 was the highest. They started the Lashley LeGrandes around 400. Not doubting your word. It's just unusual. However, it's pretty well know the Lashley's would take custom orders, and it was fairly common for them to build any model of guitar till the parts ran out.

Would you kindly help me with timeline of LeGrande's?
I thought all LeGrande models were referred to as "Lashley LeGrande" models, with the evolution going:
LeGrande ("original") - four hole bell cranks
LeGrande 2 - fourteen hole bell cranks
LeGrande 3 - fourteen hole bell cranks + compensators
Mine has the "Lashley LeGrande" decal on front apron and has four hole bell cranks.

Ah...You have a 2nd generation Legrande. Explains the high serial#. The early Lashley Legrandes, like yours had the large cabinet but 4 hole Bellcranks. These ran from mid 1986 till maybe mid 91. However some 91's had 4 hole cranks. Some had 14. The late LL's were the same as the LII's for the most part. By the time the they started using the LL-II decal. Ron changed the pedal rod ends to black and added a fret board with the wide white lines. Also, Emmons built a few guitars with the counter-force before the L-III decal was introduced. I'm in a hurry. But that covers most of it. However their are some exceptions.

| Bought my Legrande from J Palenscar back in 06 and he said it was a 92 model. Serial #881L. Sure do love mine. It is a workhorse. Use my little GS10 for lot of stuff, but when I need it the Legrande is tops. I am more of a non pedal guy but really nice to have the Legrande when I need it. May be 91, not really sure but to say 91/92 is really close. To me the Legrande has a darker sound that my little push pull. I just bump up the presence and treble on amp and it gets there. GS10 is a different animal. Still love the D10 though. Big fat B6 chords. (I tune back neck to B6). Like things to line up with each other. |

| My lashley , Legrand that I got from Bruce Bouton that was built by Jack Strayhorn, has 12 hole Bell cranks and the serial number is 703. He used it on garth Brooks recording,s not sure but believe it may be a 92 model. I could be wrong about the 92. Willie'sims. |
