Well I'm all alone now! I shipped my U-12 to Arkansas (BMI) to get it a good working over and I already miss the dang thing. I haven't been without a steel since 1976 when I was in Texas for a year. My guitar's been needing a tune up for a while and as all my gigs this month are on lead guitar I thought It'd be a good time to ship it out. What's bad is that I sent it yesterday afternoon and wouldn't you know, I got a call last night for a steel gig! Oh well, what the H--L! Does a guy get withdrawel pains from this? I hope not as I don't take pain to well! But on a good note, I still have my WALKER Pack Seat to cling to!!......JH in Va.

I think there is some kind thing where your desire to play steel grows when you can't |

Jerry, I feel your pain buddy--my LDG is in Ricky Davis' shop in Austin. All I can do now is "walk the proverbial floor" and get to know my other instruments a little better--change strings, tune em'up, etc! ha I'm sure your BMI like my LDG is in good hands---Hang in there---Carl |

Jerry.. wow, bummer... You are one of the rare guys that has only one steel.. Some of our friends here could ship 5 out and still have 10 left to play!
I am also down to one, but luckily its a recent Carter and won't need any work for awhile.
Anyway, I hope the wait is short, sweet and worth every minute!! bob |

Wow Jerry,,
I can guess what you're going through,, that's why my Emmons hasn't went out for an overhaul yet!!! Only got the one...
It's not like quitting smokeing, where you can get a Nicoderm Thermal patch to wear, Don't think they make a Steel Guitar Thermal Patch!!! LOL...
Don't tell me a steel is not addictive!!

Jerry, I'm not a Doctor but I play one now and then. What I think you have is Coccidiosis, No No that can't be it. I'll ask my bartender, he will know. Hope they do a fine job on your BMI. Ray

Man, the steel guitar is really addictive!! I've been playing standard guitar much longer than steel but never practice on the thing! Any spare time in the music room I have is spent on the steel, I guess 'cause there's more going on. I wish I had another one but I don't so I hope this doesn't take too long. Don Fritsche said a couple of weeks so I think I can hold out that long before I commit Hari-Kari with a Thumbpick.............JH in Va.

Jerry, You could put a dobro nut on your Tele. That might be enough to keep you from going into deep depression. |

John, I have an old Regal lap steel but the string spacing is so wide on that thing it's hard to play for me so I use it as a wall decoration in my music room. A friend of mine has a S-10 ShoBud he said I could borrow if a good gig came up. It's got 3 & 4 with the standard 'bud setup so I'll probably do that.....JH in Va.
