| I have been hearing that a lot of C6 players play with 2 feet. I just watched John Hughey playing Home In San Antone on C6, and his foot never came off of the vol pedal. He did seem to make quite a bit of use of knee levers however - which he seemed to have a bunch of. John Hughey's C6 playing is originally what got onto wanting to play this thing, many yrs ago. |

Using pedals 5 and 7 together is done frequently (Buddy did that) but later thinking saw some putting one or other of those changes on a knee-lever. Perhaps Hughey did.

John didn't have any floor pedals up on knee levers. Not every song requires the 2 foot chords, and even if one players uses 2 feet in a song, doesn't mean everyone does.
I have both pedals 7 and 8 on knee levers.

I attended an Ernest Tubb show w/Buddy Charlton on pedal steel.
He just danced on the pedals with both feet when he played on the C6th neck, I was amazed!  |

| That said, I've watched Buck Reid play extensively and seldom uses two feet! The most used "two-foot" chord uses pedal 5+7 which can be played with 5p and c lowered to b plus first string d. |

The first song Buddy Charelton taught me on C6 required the use of both feet. I was dumfounded!

I totally agree. Buddy Charlton played more with 8 and 1 knee than anyone I have ever seen. Not to highjack the thread, but Bobby Garrett was another great steeler who never got the recognition he deserved either. JMO |

| I'm definitely with you Erv and Jim Bob. Watching Buddy Play some of those things with him and Leon on YouTube from the Ernest Tubb show, is kinda what got me on this quest last year - then I heard Jimmy Day on Pick Me Up On Your Way Down, and that did it! So, at 55, I said: I gotta do this! haha! As for Bobby Garrett as well: all I can seem to find is Rose City Chimes (studio and, a Hank Thompson Live record recorded at a rodeo). I really really like everything in that song - especially his tone. It's a shame he didn't continue. |

| Maybe all C6 stuff doesn't need 2 pedals - you guys would know a lot better than me. But, Hughey was wearing it out! He looked like he was keeping time with his left foot, on one pedal. |

What is that chord and how is it used?

I have to use two feet when doing pedal 6+7 combos because my mechanics just don't work as well when I try and rock the left foot on and off the 7 pedal....
