Andee,
When I'm bored I make strange things to play, here is a Baritone I made for this Video only.

I like to have fun. When you read about strings & tuning all you will get is advice on a Guitar played by finger, not Steel Bar therefore they talk about tuning a fifth or fourth lower than standard tuning of EADGBE which is no help to a Lap Steel guy, you have to experiment yourself. You will find Strings here,,,https://www.stringsbymail.com/electric-guitar-strings-8/daddario-9/xl-baritone-38/xl157-danelectro-378/

String Gauge Chart here:
http://www.hawaiiansteel.com/graphics/pdf/string_gauge_chart.pdf
You can pick any tuning you want. I have a guitar set up with same intervals same as a regular 6 string E major tuning, but dropped down to C. Big & growly.
I've also had fun with intervals same as low bass open G (DGDGBD) but dropped down to open E (BEBEG#B). |
