Hello,
I'm looking for a little 5mm tuning wrench. www.psgparts.com has one, but as I live in Canada, the shipping is $15. Is there anywhere else that sells them in the States or Canada?
Thanks,
Alan |

You could buy a 5mm nut driver at a hardware store. If you can't buy just one, a whole set shouldn't be too expensive. I'm pretty sure you can drive a 5mm allen wrench into a 3/16" tuning wrench to ream it out enough to fit. |

Make one:
1. Home Depot, there are several in Hamilton, ON or Amazon
2. Buy 5mm nut driver.
3. Buy an electrical connector as shown
4. Glue the nut driver in the connector
5. If you have to buy extra parts, make them for friends

If you can find a store like an Ace Hardware or Canada Tire Store that sells cheap deep well 5 mm sockets. They are easy to make into a wrench. Here is one I made for power on tight tuning nuts. This one has a brass cross rod. If you have a steel with split tuning a piece of allen wrench that fits the split tuning screws for a cross rod would put all tuning in 1 wrench.
Good Luck and Happy Steelin. |

I had trouble finding a 5mm nut driver at hardware and tool stores a few years ago (the selection of metric stuff just wasn't that good) but found one at a hobby store. |

I, also, recently bought a 5mm wrench from Michael at PSGparts.com. Fast friendly service, well crafted tool. |

I have a few different ones, but I really like the one that came with my new Williams, and they sell them on their website for $6.50. That combined with their Tone Bar & Tuning Wrench Holder, which snaps onto a leg of the guitar, works great for me.
