I have been using Cleartune on my IPhone for a few years now with my own offsets programmed and it works great. Lastnight I received a message on my phone saying with the next version of IOS (ver 11), Cleartune would stop working. Has anyone else received that message? I really like this app but if it does stop working I'll need to find a replacement. What other tuner apps do you guys use and like that allows for custom offsets? |

I use Cleartune on my Android phone and did not get a message saying anything about it not working on Android. I guess it's limited to the next iOS version. It's the best tuner app I've used.
For steel, I use use a Peterson StroboPlus HD. Works great.
I primarily play fiddle and for that, I have a Sonic Research ST-300 strobe tuner on my pedal board. It's rugged, compact, reliable, and equally bright on a dark stage or bright daylight. Like the Peterson, it can it can be programmed to fine tune the target notes.

Steve, I have the same problem with Cleartune in my Ipad. I'll keep it there until it actually doesn't work.
I just got the TE Tuner app. I tried it today and it is pretty amazing. Does all sorts of things but mainly the tuner is real nice.

I was just screwing around with it and you can make beatless chord drones sustain while using the metronome for ear training. Pretty cool.
I'm very interested in what guys are doing with IOS tuners now that Cleartune seems to have abandoned the format. _________________ Bob |

I have an older iPad (that will never get any more iOS upgrades). I opened Cleartune last evening and did not get any message. |

I have a StroboFlip, and an St200 turbo tuner already. they both work fine. I don't always take my pedalboard out and usually only plug straight from my volume pedal into an amp and use the amp reverb. Simple. The one thing I always have with me is my iPhone. Thus the reason I'm looking for a Cleartune replacement. Thank you Bob for the tip. I'll give it a try. |

There are tons of tuner apps out there. Cleartune seemed to be the choice of pro players in general. I'm wondering what people are switching to. Or if it is nessisary. It seems like cleartune still works even though that warning on iOS pops up.
I'm still using cleartune on my android phone. Still works great. _________________ Bob |

Steve,
I use Cleartune as my tuner and I have seen the "upgrade" message on my iPhone. I will miss it too but there will be alternatives.

It doesn't necessarily mean the developer abandoned iOS output; it's more likely that they just haven't yet released an update that has been tested to be compatible with the new version of iOS (which isn't out yet, and is still in beta). Chances are, in the next few weeks, they'll release an iOS 11-compatible update. _________________ James Collett |

I'll second Len's vouch for Pano Piano. I use it for quick tuner situations off a droid. Sure beats plugging things in.
Simple and accurate enough. _________________ ShoBud The Pro 1

I just put it on my iPhone and it works fine. Glad it’s back. It is still my favorite. _________________ Bob |
