Very nice older amp Mark. I would like to have had it a few years back. I like the simple design of it. Five control knobs, that is all I need. I once had a Sho-Bud Single Channel Amp that was the same. Great sounding Amp. I think they were both built by Jim Cain? I would like to see someone today building that simple amp. Light weight and a light price. Good luck on your sale, J.R. _________________ NOTHING..Sold it all. J.R. Rose |

JR, I know what you are saying.
We recently compared the new 115 to a session 500.
Loved the weight and portability of 115....but......That Session 500 is the best amp money can buy at any price. Of course you would have to then fiqure out how you were going to move it around. My guess is you could not build it today for less than $3K.
I think the Gretsch will ultimately go to a jazz/blues guitar player looking for a killer amp with the Gretsch providance and branding.
Ironically there is a 12" version of it available on ebay.
Take Care,
