Not talking about the different brands. (labels) I can't help but believe that there are only a few. Someone should know this. Sort of like the Samick guitar company. I understand that Samick makes a lot of 6 string guitars for a whole host of companies. Anyone care to enlighten me? Thanks in advance

At one time, I could only confirm 3 actual US string manufacturing companies. GHS, Squier (owned by Fender) and one in NYC (but couldn't confirm which NYC company it was).

I haven't kept track and haven't done any recent real investigation into actual string manufacturing companies. There may or may not be more actual manufacturing companies today.
