This listing is for a 1972 Sho~Bud "The Professional" D10 8x1 Double Neck Pedal Steel Guitar & its' original hard shell case.

What a cool player this is! The Professional is a classic Sho~Bud Design and a huge part of the Pedal Steel Guitar's History. It has loads of that classic Sho~Bud tone & vibe that you just can't find anywhere else!

This guitar has definitely seen a ton of gigs and was most likely a player's main performance guitar for many years. It shows its age and has plenty of battle scars to display. I would describe it as "player grade" so keep looking if you are expecting an excellent or mint condition instrument. If this guitar were mint I'd be asking double for it.

Having said all this the guitar does play and sound great. The 8x1 1 Raise 1 Lower Design is as classic as it gets. The E9 Neck is standard ABC w/ RKL lowering your Es. The pickup in the E9 has been replaced w/ an 80s high output Sho~Bud pickup as the original was extremely thin sounding. The original pickup sounds great on the C6 Neck as the lower tuning thickens it up considerably. You will notice more 60 Cylce Hum on the E9 Neck tho since it is much higher output. The endplates have been padded between the plates & the maple to make the guitar more stable & there is a small crack behind the C6 bridge.

Once again this is not a pristine example and the more you look the more signs of age/use you will find but if are looking for a player with tons of classic vibe this Professional is it!
