Beautiful guitar ! Last forever ! They have had 45 years to make a better looking guitar and haven't even ventured close in my opinion. Maybe its the green since I'm retired Forest Service.

It knew you would be its new owner the second it saw you. ...how long did you have to think about it?

A similar thread has appeared on the UK steel guitar forum. An entry from Ken Byng, a very knowledgeable and respected player wrote:
Sometimes the green finish can turn brown or even lighter, especially if the guitar has been regularly subjected to sunlight or UV light.
As many members on here know already, steel guitar manufacturers used food dyes to stain their wood bodies years ago, and that type of dye is very prone to fading unless it is played in a darkened room all of its life. Laughing If you have an older lacquer body guitar and have it set permanently in a room that has daylight coming in, cover it up when not in use if you don't want it to fade. Modern lacquered steel guitars have pigment staining, which is very fade resistant.

Sounds as though yours is quite old, so, to protect that colour, keep it covered! Ken - hope you don't mind my plagiarism!

My 76' ProIII was shipped blue from the factory. It has faded to a more green than blue color. As mentioned above, food dyes used very susceptible to fading.
