Fender Duel Pro, Slipping legs?
I think it needs to have the rubber washers replaced.
Anyone had this and know the best way to fix it?

Also where is the best place to get the parts?
Would a rubber tube sliced to length work?

The guitar slips down during normal playing.
Thanks in advance for good advise,
Andy Rolling Eyes

Same happened to me. I ended up making full length legs using hardware store parts. There's an all-thread that works perfectly for the Duo and Custom. Chop off about 4 inches and slide it down into tubing. Then I drilled through both and ran a good strong bolt through. I use the rubber feet for crutches. All found at the hardware store! I took a leg with me and walked around until I found everything.

Dan Burrows has clutch assembly kits which do the
job. I used them on my Fender T8 Custom and they
work fine.

Andy, I made a typo. It is Don Burrows.
His e mail no longer works. I checked a previous SGF post and find that he has retired.
Sorry for the misleading post. I bought the kits a year or so ago and they were excellent.

There is an old sound company trick that works,

Inside there there is a metal ring with an angled edge that faces a Phenolic ring with a cut along it.

The Phenolic ring interior wall is what is worn, and slips, - if you pinch it on the inner tube it will not grasp any more.

Solution = Take a flat Needle File and file the long cut, to widen that gap enough so that when you pinch it the phenolic graps the inner tube again.

Clean the tube with alcohol or acetone to remove old gunk - reassemble the unit - make sure the metal ring has the angled edge up against the phenolic ring, as you increase the tightened threads of the hand grabbing part it rams the metal ring against the phenolic and pinched ot to the tube , and you are back in business.

A little bit long winded explaination, but once you have done one it is super easy to do them.

Thanks George,
Sounds like you know the exact issue and answer to the problem.
I'll follow all the instructions and let you know if it works.
Best Regards,
Andy
