A few years ago I purchased a black Erickson S-10 E9th 3+4 on eBay for a friend who was thinking of taking up the steel. I believe the seller was from either Minnesota or Michigan. It set in the shipping box for years as that friend never got around to steel guitar. Then a few weeks ago another friend pulled it out after deciding to take up the steel. He asked about the background of the builder, etc., and I have no information. Fellow players in my area have no information to offer either. If anyone knows the background of these Erickson instruments we would appreciate any insight.
Thanks in advance for the help.

These guitars were built by Alvin Erickson, in Gonvick, Mn. he didn't make many guitars, but he did distribute several S-10 BMI guitars that Zane Beck sent him in the late 70s, he sold these with an Erickson Decal on the guitars, I stopped at his place around 77 when I was with Gretsch, & he had a little shop with one guitar at the time! Al,I appreciate the information. This explains a reference I saw that listed a steel guitar as a "BMI/Erickson". I have also seen a reference to "Erickson-BMI".
Thanks for taking the time to help out!
