Topic: How to remove Behringer Amp chassis from cabinet |

I have a Behringer ACH450 Utracoustic amp that I need to remove the chassis to fix a problem with it. I removed the three screws on each side but the chassis won't budge. I didn't see anything else that was holding the amp but fellow forumite Blake Hawkins suspects the handle is screwed into the chassis and holding it however he didn't find any way to remove the plastic end caps on the handle.
Does anyone have info on how to remove the chassis? Several Behringer models appear to have the same mounting system.
Behringer will not give out any service info. |

Yes, Jon, we've both been tempted to use the excellent tool pictured.
However, it would be nice if we could keep the handles in their original shape, 'cause I don't know any source for replacements.
Jack suspects that Behringer may just destroy the covers taking them off and then put some new ones on during the reassembly.  |

I ultimately used "brute force" to get the handle caps off and then accessed the screws. I put a new handle on.
Shortly after I fixed it, the amp was sold. |

Update: Found out you have to use brute force with a large blade screwdriver to pyre the plastic covers off. Removing the two screws allows you to remove the chassis. Be careful to remove the speaker plug from the chassis before removing it from the cabinet. |
