I'll be in Tampa 7/19-7/23. Anyone around days to jam or talk steel?

If you want a day trip, go north, about 65 miles, to Wildwood and visit Bondz Music. Both the owner and manager are both steel players. He usually has some steels on consignment. He is also a Peavey dealer and may have a Nashville 112 or the new steel amp in stock.
The owner, Jonny Bondz was a salesman for Gretsch/Sho-Bud.
They used to have a web site, but I can't find it.
Here is a link that shows where its at.

Inverness, where I live is 65 miles north of Tampa. I play in a band but Monday evenings in Oxford (west end of The Villages) which is 4 miles north of the music store I mentioned in Wildwood. There is one full time resident steeler in Zephyrhills and a couple part time resident pickers including Fred Thompson and Ronnie Miller (Charley Pride's steeler). One that I know of in Largo and one in Winter Haven. One in Land O Lakes.
May be more around the Tampa area, but ones I know about. When I was running the Florida Steel Guitar Club we didn't have one from Tampa. |
