Very interesting study on the effect of power supply ripple on a Fender F6A Bassman amplifier (long considered the Holy Grail of guitar amps).

Not sure about AC Ripple, but Pagan Pink used to have a negative affect on the sound of my old Ampeg Portaflex back in the day.

Very interesting article, thanks for the link.

I can't help wondering if there are other influencing factors they didn't consider. One possibility that comes to mind is the fact that they modeled their power supply's characteristics based on tests conducted using a simple resistive load. A speaker load is complex and the power supply response to it may be different. If so, their modeled supply would be inaccurate.
