Are there many examples out of Hawaiian music being played on a dobro with high G tuning? I'd like to explore it a bit.

Alternately, does anyone know of a book or other source for tabs?

I have a gig coming up with a luau theme. I've got the cheesy shirt......just not the tunes! Details, details.....

Thanks!

You are in luck, Jim. Stacy Phillips has two excellent books of Hawaiian tunes for dobro in G. They are top shelf!

I would think that Hawaiian tunes could be played in most any tuning, if you are familiar with the tuning...

You're right Bill. I learned many in A Major (EC#CEAE) Hi to Low when I took lessons in 1948. Mind you, some of the tunes are very basic!!!!!
