Dave,

I'd recommend using a .047 mfd cap in the tone circuit of your Emmons. You can probably get one at an electronics store or even Radio Shack for a nominal cost.

Depending upon the year of your guitar, you will find a chocolate drop, green CDE Tiny Chief, red CDE, or a ceramic cap. The blues are all essentially the same -- 0.05 mfd or 0.047 mfd. The voltages are typically 200 v.d.c although I have seen 50 volts on the ceramic caps.
A bigger variable is the size of your tone pot. For example, for years, Emmons used 100K pots with a 1964 date. I have even found this pot in a 1969 Emmons and a 1968, but I have also found a 500k in a 1965. The standard pot for later guitars is 500k or 0.5 meg 1/2 watt.

Thanks Edward..I got their e-mail today, and the shipping is more than the part! The local Radio Shack is useless. I called the local music store, and I think I found one with a local repair person. Thanks for the heads up! Smile
