Anybody using one?
I prefer passive pedals. However, this weekend the pot in my old sho-bud pedal went bad. Luckily the bass player had a Fractul EV-1 volume pedal with him that he let me borrow.
I'm quite impressed with this pedal. It's robust, quite smooth, uses an arced rack and pinion for easy maintenance, has an externally accessible friction adjust, uses a very quiet 500k pot, is relativley low profile, and has an expression output.
I'm not sure what the expression feature is about - haven't tried it. It apparently uses a different lower Z pot.
The mechanics are quite robust with 1/2" dia. axel.
Anyway for $140.00 direct from Fractul, it looks like a bargain.
I'd appreciate any comments.

Expression is a specially wired pedal for an expression circuit in a keyboard or other electronic device. It acts as the controller.

I may, in fact, be nuts. However, I am screwed onto the right bolt... Jesus!

I have 2 for my Fractal FX-8.

Their strong suit is expression in that it's the best I've ever used.

Maybe fix up your old Sho-Bud pedal, but in the meantime, yes, the Fractal is an excellent passive pedal. I went into it blind & ordered the 2 before the pedalboard came, but was blown away by how responsive & sturdy they were. The pedal "throw" using them as passive was perfect for me. Am very happy with them, whether used as passive or as expression.

Absolutely, Jim; order you up one. Cool
