Went to Darrell McCall show tonight in New Boston Texas and saw one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Tommy is a fantastic player with such taste in his playing and great tone from that Emmons bolt-on and a super nice guy. Go see this show if you get a chance and like steel guitar, fiddle and great country music.

Tommy is a great picker and a heck of a nice guy. I have known Tommy since his Moe Bandy days. Great to see you playing an Emmons Tommy! Thanks for posting the pictures, Henry. |

Great photos, Henry. Between gigs and producing, recording, mixing, and playing all of the stringed instruments on everyone else's recordings at Cherry Ridge Studio, Tommy D is "the hardest working guy in show business". Country music is alive and well if he's involved and you know the steel will be way up in the mix. The first time I heard Tommy on Doug Sahm's album "The Return of Wayne Douglas" I knew who I wanted to sound like - it's just getting there that's been the problem You're absolutely right about tasteful playing and great tone - he definitely has "that sound" whether backing up a singer or ripping off a killer break. He also has some extremely cool signature licks and harmonics that really get your attention. Two thumbs up for a great guy and thanks for the music, Tommy! |

Tommy's hair is gettin' like mine!
Justin on bass and Mona on snare, didn't recognize the fiddler. But I'm sure it was a great band. Tommy is a hoss player and one of my heroes. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

"The Trail to Monterrey" by Pauline Reese made me a total Tommy D. fan!! Haven't had the pleasure of meeting him personally, but there may be some family in members in Stamford, TX, close to where I live. He is a whale of a steel man! |

I was very fortunate to be on the same bill as Tommy back in December at Gruene Hall and man it was an honor watching him play. His tone, attack and of course his hair blowing in the wind was absolutely superb! _________________ "Hotrod"
