Im looking around at used and new cabs available- will be for a high powered 12" speaker for pedal steel- curious what you are using, any experiences- on the cheap end Peavey makes a 112 extension cab with a speaker @ ~130.00, and then I've seen empty cabs listed near 1k. All advice welcome, thanks. |

I have some in stock in my chocolate finish. These are nice and light, and sound great with a single 12"
they are open back, but deep, so there is a fair amount of bottom

oh - and you can email me for price tim at milkmansound.com
I don't want to post price on the forum... but lets say they are more expensive than the Peavey but much less expensive than $1000
also, they are solid pine |

I just built a cabinet for a 12" Eminence "Double T-12" (Travis Toy) speaker. Its my current "go to" speaker that I'm using with my D-10.
I'll post a picture later but its tweed covered with a metal speaker cover on the front. Its made from 1X12 "better grade" pine. The speaker baffle is 1/2" plywood.
Dimensions are 18" high, 17 3/4" wide and 10" deep.

Here are two pictures. The jack plate is large, but it was what I had so I used it.

Try Steve Schmidt. He is a forum member and just built me a couple cabinets. Great work. Sound great. I hope I spelled his name right. He is from Minnesota if that helps you find him. he is also very reasonable in price. |

Aaron, I found a big second-hand Avatar 112 open-back cab that is doing the trick- feel free to pm me for details. The advice given to me locally was - if shopping used, find something solid loaded with a desirable guitar speaker (to sell). Empty cabs for sale appear to be rare, and the nice ones, (Tim's look amazing), available involve shipping a heavy box in a few other boxes across the country (in my case).
Jack, your work looks great. Im inspired to build my next cab. |

I can vouch for the cabinets from that eBay site above. That's Greg's Pro Audio in Riverside, CA. I have one of his 12" cabinets. Excellent quality at a very fair price. I picked mine up at his workshop. He's a good guy to deal with and knows his stuff. _________________ Tom Dillon

I recommend checking out Ear Fuzz Effects on eBay. I just got a 1x12 from him that I threw a TT speaker in. Awesome sound!!!
I didn't buy it for it's lightness, but it's quite light. It's also absolutely gorgeous - I cringe a little at the scuffs I'm adding to it every gig (but hey, it's most beautiful when being used, right?
Anyhow, great cabs. And a local MN builder (well, that's cool for me at least ). |
