Anybody know who plays steel guitar with Social Distortion's Mike Ness solo stuff??

I opened a show for them around 2008. If I recall the guitar player doubled on steel, very friendly guy. We geeked out on steel talk for a while.

He played an older shobud that he said was previously owned by Hal Rugg , and was the one used on many of the Loretta Lynn recordings. Pretty cool....

Apparently I was the only guy on the planet who never heard of Mike Ness and social distortion.

Hey Steve,
Great story...Cool gig. Mike is actually a huge country music fan. 2 of his cd's: Under The Influences and Cheating At Solitaire feature covers by Connie Smith, Marty Robbins, Lefty Frizzel.... He puts his own spin on them of course but they're definitely worth a listen...

Sorry Godfrey , I dont recall if he mentioned the specific recordings , I think it was just a general statement.

It does seem like the west coast retro acts are heavy on the true vintage gear and such.
