That's a very cool guitar. Those old 'Buds sound like a million bucks and the maple bodies look super cool. The D10s are back-break heavy, but this single neck wouldn't be as bad that way. Adding another KL would be simple and this baby could gig anywhere.

Are the pedal rods shorter than standard height ?
