Ashamed to admit that I have only recently discovered the talented Harmonica Sam.
Such a wonderful band and what a great sounding Steel Player. Who is the talented PSG artist? Would love to discover some history on this great sounding artist.

I don't know how current this information is, but discogs.com lists the following:
The Country Side of Harmonica Sam
represents a rare and unique
branch of contemporary country music. This is country music like it sounded
in the late 50’s and early 60’s; more modern sounding than the 40’s Hillbilly
style sometimes seen on the rockabilly scene around Europe. At the same time
it’s far from the contemporary Nashville sound of country music. With a steady
4/4 shuffle, steel guitar and tic-tac bass,
the band performs their own original
songs right alongside classics from Faron Young, Skeets McDonald, Billy
Walker and Ray Price - to name a few.
The band members include bandmaster

Ulrik Jansson
(upright bass),
Patrik Malmros
(drums),
Johan Bandling

(lead guitar/harmony vocals) and

So this was a European Band! I have an electronic copy of the LP with no sleeve notes.
Sensational! Steeler has a Bakersfield sound to his playing. Wonder when the record was made?

Peter Andersson is the fine pedal steel player in this super authentic honky-tonk band. He plays an old Sho-Bud D-10 Fingertip. I'm still a little mind boggled to say my favorite country band hails from Sweden.

Hi Ashley, glad you like it!
We have to albums out. Our first one 'Open letter to the blues' was recorded 2015 in Lightning Recorders in Berlin and our second album 'A drink after midnight' was released just two weeks ago but was recorded at three different sessions in 2016 at Gula Studion in Malmö, Sweden, (were we all come from).
Both albums are recorded live with us all standing in the same room. And for amps Peter was using a Fender Princeton Reverb with a JBL D120 for 'Open Letter' and for 'A drink' he also used a late 50's Fender Pro with a JBL D130 that sounds amazing.
I'm gonna let Peter know about this thread and ask him to chime in on what steels he used.

Well, I'm not sure about in Australia but try Amazon, Cduniverse och straight from our record company El Toro in Spain. If you just want to download go to itunes or Google play. We're also on Spotify if you have that.
Our first album is little more old school sounding compared to the new one. If 'Open letter to the blues' sounds mid 50s 'A drink after midnight' sounds more late 50s/early 60s ha ha!

I've been listening to both albums non stop. Ralph Mooney and Lloyd Green -with a pinch of Weldon Myrick? Peter just nails it on both records. Awesome band.

Like everyone ( almost ) I just recently discovered this GREAT honky-tonk band too.
LOVE their singing & playing - sounds right out of the early '60's Bakersfield style.
