I go to Margie Mays here in Mesa and get inspiration from her on my steel...just curious if there are other players in the area who might be interested to get together for music jam, fellowship, swapping ideas, etc. I will be in Arizona until the end of May...either respond via pm or on here.
I might mention that I can play good rhythm guitar and would be happy doing that if we had a get together or i have tons of backing tracks to provide.
Thanks !

I am really seeking to find lap steelers who have been playing all their lives or at least started very young...I think it would be interesting to hear their tunings and have them play their arrangements...maybe what I am seeking is a club within a club...of just non-pedal steelers. Perhaps many of these people are not forum members and/or not interested in computers, so my search is falling on "deaf ears" so to speak. I know that Tempe has a Arizona Aloha Festival in March where they have music, food, crafts, etc...wasnt aware of this until lately, so I have never attended so dont know how much steel guitar goes on there. Perhaps a topic for another post, but here is the link:

Larry, I'd check with Fred Justice. He'll know what's shakin' around PHX.
