He collapsed at the end of his 70th birthday gig last night and passed a short while later. _________________ Scott Shipley Facebook |

I used to kid him that "I knew him since he was a Corporal". A good segment of the music world is in mourning, for those who didn't know of or didn't appreciate his often tilted view of music and the music business, I hope they find their way to some of his genius. He had an extremely, permanently transformative effect on many of the players he came in contact with, and there really aren't many musicians who provide that. I'll sure be grateful for my time with him. What a fine way to cross over- at a celebration of your life and impact with some of the finest musicians of our time. Angel band… look out! _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

I remember seeing the Hampton Grease Band many times in the late 60's here. You never knew what they would play. I remember "Pipeline" one night at the sports arena.
Also remember Bruce as "Milton" the tunesmith from Sling blade.
What a cast in that movie.
A big loss for those who knew and loved him.
