If you have a fairly modern cell phone, like an iPhone or Galaxy, it will take great video and decent audio. The "stand alone" cameras like the Flip are becoming extinct because of these. If you do want a dedicated camera and not a phone, the Zoom Q series are good, I think they are on the Q4 now. If you can pick up a Q2 on blowout or used, get it, they looks and sound great (I know, audiophiles love to bash Zoom, but they are good little recorders IMO). If you want to add stereo audio to your iPhone, Zoom also makes their iQ mics, which attach to the phone. Others make these stereo mics for smart phones now, I imagine most work decently.
