First of all, I'm not sure if this should be in Pedal Steel or music, but I'll try here. Obviously, feel free to move it if I'm wrong. I'm new here.
Does anyone know any voicings for a major 7 sharp 11 chord on the E9 neck? (C E G B F#) I guess you could use a B lower on the 8th position, and add in the 2nd string in addition to the normal grip. Anybody know a voicing with the G and the F# in the voicing?

G Major 7 (G,B,D,F#. A E minor 9 E,G,B,D,F#. If you can lower the G# to G you have a E Minor 9. A Shell voicing of E,B,F# (3,Major 7, #4) would be good sub. The #F can be called #11

| Yes, sharp 11 is what I meant. Thanks for the clarification. I'm looking for a solo arrangement, so I can't rely on the bass player to supply the tonality. Also, I play an extended E9 with a low G# and E. |

| AB down, E lower lever, half-lever 6th string lower, 10th fret pick strings 11, 10, 8, 6 gives you G B C# F# . The V is missing but it may serve your harmonic/melodic purpose? |

If you literally mean C E G B F# you can play C E G at fret 1, and B F# open.
These are on my ext E9:
At fret 2, strings 10 raised a half step, 9, 7 lowered a half step, 6 raised a half step, 4
At fret 7, strings 12, 11, 10, 8 lowered a half step, 6 raised a whole step
At fret 10 strings 9, 7, 6 raised a half step, 5 raised a whole step, 1 raised a whole step |

| Earnest and Jon, those both will work fine! Thanks for the response, I can't believe I didn't think of the one on the first fret. I never think to add open strings in to other positions. Thanks a lot fellas! |
