There is a a similar guitar up right now with a slightly more unique color for $2000. If it's got 8 pedals and 4-5 knees you are probably in that ball park.
If you really aren't sure that it's playable and in good condition, you may want to drop it a bit and take a bunch of photos.
This is a desirable steel. Probably the most desirable MSA of it's era, but still not quite in that high end market.

Hi Ron,
I am assuming you have all the parts for this guitar. There should be 4 legs, a pedal rack with 7 or 8 foot
pedals and a set of rods which connect the foot pedals to parts on the bottom of the guitar. If the parts are all there, it would help to know how many pedals there are, and how many knee levers there are. The knee levers are folded up underneath the guitar. More pictures would help, including a picture or two of the bottom side showing the mechanical parts underneath the body.
I have seen MSA guitars like this sell anywhere for $1400
to $2500, depending on condition. There is one for sale here now at $2000, which is a realistic price for one in very good condition. |

If you're in Southern California, you could take it to Jim Palenscar in Oceanside, and have it appraised, and repaired if necessary. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

I just spent over an hour checking out this guitar and it's in really good shape. The SS model has the reputation as the best sounding of the MSAs of that era and it holds up to that.
There are few modifications to the original setup as far as I can tell, though both necks are currently hard-wired to be on together, and the switch used to change necks is missing. The tuning machines on the C neck need some lubrication, which I recommend doing when strings are changed. I set the E9 neck pedals and levers to the Peterson OE9 setting to all but the C#-D/D-C# lever.
This guitar has a good feel to the pedals and levers and may be the best sounding earlier MSA I've ever played. |

Thanks Pete for looking over my guitar. I had a good time listening to you pick it. As far as the sale goes $2200.00 seems like a good starting spot I will definitely consider an offer. |
