| It looks like it has ZB style tuners for a set of raises, and permanent style tuners for a set of lowers. |

Did Curly ever play a single neck? I've only seen him playing double necks.

| I was thinking this didn't seem like anything I'd seen him play, but even more interesting to me is the extra tuning screws. I thought someone might know about such an experiment. |

| Yea I noticed the "Curly Chucker" listed below but it has a name plate on the front that says something like "custom made for" I dont recall if it was able to be read in the photos though. Interesting looking guitar but it seems a little high. If it could be proven to have been played and owned by Curly Chalker then maybe its worth the asking price, he was quite a musician and made a huge impact on the steel guitar world. |

the guy that I got it from said that the person he got it from bought it from
a store in Nashville however I don't have any paperwork saying that and the
guy I purchased it from has passed away two years ago.i have never seen
another single neck sho-bud with that kind of carriage underneath,i read
where mr.chauker designed this setup for his style of playing.i hope this helps!

I'm guessing that the upper row of screws are for split tuning, and the lower row are the tuning screws for the raises (similar to ZB).
Perhaps the raise tuning wasn't accurate enough by relying on the pedal and lever stops, or maybe there was an improvement in tone/sustain by having the ZB type raise tuning screws.
If you look closely at these screws, you can see marks in the endplate where they have 'bottomed out'

It seems strange that Curly would ever play a single 10 E9.
BTW on the DVD I made (which is still available if anybody wants one,) he is playing an MCI. A D-10 of course.
