If you know just what you want it to do, there should be no problem at all! My 9th pedal was Sonny Burnett's idea to me and I raised the 6th. string on my C6 1/2-tone from (E) to (F).

John, thats what I had in mind. Actually, the 6 pedal in reverse-which includes 1/2 lower on second strng. So where did you situate that pedal? Are the rest of your pedals standard C6? I think I'll probe this subject in a seperate post.

It took me a long time to finally gain some confidence with foot accuracy with 8 pedals (or five i should say as this is a C6 issue). Im a little hesitant to throw a wrench in the works. I have big feet and I like the wide spacing on my '72 P/P.(the 9th pedal does not concern this guitar) I assume 9 pedals ordered with a new guitar order (Zum fer example) would result in a closer pedal spacing. Well, I guess anything can be gotten used too. This might be uneccessary fretting. (no pun intended but I'll go with it)

Five's my limit. Even at that, I sometimes miss the fifth one. And if you messed with my pedal spacing, it would take me years to get used to it.

Zum has a space for a ninth pedal, but it doesn't change the spacing of the others.

I have that change on my guitar and I like it a lot. For me its a knee lever (reverse pedal 6, that is) but I'm thinking of adding a ninth pedal for it. I use it often. You want to make sure you can use it in conjunction with pedal 5, pedal 8 and both of the knee levers that pull the C (third string) up a half step and down a half step. Don

i got 9 on my Zum
it's just another pedal / mo' power
as long as you need it & you know what it does you'll get used to it

there must be more 9 pedaled D10s comin' forth if some have 4 pedals on E9 & the standard 5 on C6

I have 9 pedals, cos I don't hook up my 4th Franklin change to the C6th neck ..so the 5 pedals I use on C6th are all moved across one. I've been playing 9 pedals for about 25 years so it's second nature to me. You just have to make sure you have enough room between pedal 9 and your volume pedal for those fancy 2 foot moves !
